I always thought I liked myspace better, but it seems like facebook has more people on it these days.

Myspace seems to appeal to more creative side (profiles, blogs, music, etc.) whereas facebook seems more connective.

What do you like better?

I prefer Facebook. It has a much better and well organized user interface. Somehow I don't like Myspace pages, especially the "home made" pages as most of them seems to be so chaotic to me. It's good when someone is trying to design something, but what many forgets, what is good for the user, it's maybe bothering the eyes of the visitor. And in this, Myspace takes the lead as if they would have 1 zillion users, there would be 1 zillion different layout on each pages and half of it is unreadable due to the background images and useless due to the different layouts and extras what people used to upload. But this part is not Myspace's fault. I love creativity, but by my opinion Myspace is giving too much freedom in this which is ruining the overall picture of the user pages.

There was a recent poll that showed that the trend is that myspace is "Ghetto" and that uneducated, lower income earners use it. Whereas higher educated, higher paid people use facebook.

I believe some of that has to do with the ridiculous ads, the horrible configurable pages with flashing gifs and terrifying backgrounds. Facebook is all about the communication and social networking and apps.

Myspace is all about... God I don't know, sucking the life out of the planet?

I see the point of neither.

I can think of plenty of disadvantages to both. Why on Earth I would want to 'socially network' with people I don't socialise with God alone knows. I'm not one for collecting 'friends' and showing off to the world how popular I am.

Mainly because I'm a friendless misanthrope.

Therefore, beer.

Since I can't have beer, and I'm on both Facespace and MyBook or whateverz, I'm going to vote pie. But just a small piece.

They're both very different. I find that I don't use my MySpace very often now, but it's likely because I followed the herd more than had a preference.

So I picked 'beer' on the poll, even though I'm in a hard liquor phase right now. in moderation, of course.

I put it to you, Perks, that you were driven to hard drink by Between Brothers and the reading thereof.

I agree with Scarletpeaches.

If I had to choose, and the beer was off the table, I'd say Facebook.

However, I can never seem to figure out who sees what on my page in facebook, and it doesn't seem very easy to search for people on Facebook, yet MySpace seemed filled up with teens, and then again....

screw it.
just give me another beer and I'll hang up and listen.

This was hard. I have connected with extended family on Facebook including a cousin who brews some pretty tasty beer. So Facebook AND beer. If you don't have a microbrewer in your friends list then just beer.

Never joined Myspace.

I started with myspace. In the beginning it was unique. You could connect, send PMs to friends, write blogs, connect with other writers, artists, etc. etc. etc. It was your one-stop socializing shop. I still have it, but the bloom is off the rose since Facebook and twitter appeared. Honestly, I can't figure out WHY I like Facebook better, I just do.

I've never had a Myspace or Facebook page, and I've not had a beer in a really long time.

But the apparent networking site for "true professionals" is linkedin. But I'm not on there either. It's amazing I even tweet.

Oh, and I'm about to buy my first "laptop" computer...

I agree with you. I hate getting unsolicited "friend" requests.

From my page:
"Thanks for your interest in my profile. Not sure how you made your way here, but I'm not looking for any unsolicited friend requests. Thanks though."

I do like it because my brother is on there and so is my wife and her family, and its a nice, easy place to share photos and stuff. But thats it.

you martyr and shine.
Facebook. I abandoned my MySpace account.
Same here.

My extended family is into Facebook in a big way, so it's been fun to joke around with the Texas cousins and the Seattle nieces and nephews on a regular basis.

It's low stress, low obligation socializing.
