If I've ever heard of a totally sneaky, underhanded clue this is it! Imagine taking a fictional character and telling us he was a member of the Beat Movement! I spent days looking up famous beats but couldn't find one that fit the scramble!
Finally, I realized the answer is Gilligan. But he didn't even have a first name, so Revisionist's scramble is a hoax from start to finish! :Headbang:

What's that?

Oh...You say it wasn't Gilligan? It was another character played by the same actor? Let me think...The only one I can think of is Maynard G. Krebs.

Happy now, Rev?

:D

#2 read it on Monday--especially a blue one; eat it seven days a week.)

Well, thanks Nym, but it turns out I didn't need it. I took a little time off to relax and read some Vonnegut and whaddya know, BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS came right to me.
Oh yeah, I rock. :e2dance:

I'll post a new one in a few minutes; I'm in the middle of my victory dance.

Oh heck, I almost feel guilty with this one (almost), so I will elaborate and say that after the Virginia Woolf and Vonnegut references, I felt it was time to bring things down to my entertainment level...

Your entertainment level? You mean "American Idol?" Well, so far I'm completely stumped. :chores

No, I don't mean American Idol (although that is indeed on my level). The clue is woof, you may recall. So it's a dog. Now how can you figure out what lowbrow entertainment I could possibly be referring to? Hmmm...I'm stumped too.

Well, the best I've come up with is this guy:snoopy: and he don't fit. I'm going to bed now. Maybe it will come to me in my sleep.:sleepy:

I took a little nap, and the answer came to me in my sleep: Lassie!

But when I awoke, I realized that could not be right. It's too late for Santa, but maybe Santa's Little Helper will come and put the answer in my stocking (which is still hanging there, because Santa, the flake, didn't put anything in it).

And now, before I go to bed, here's something to trouble your sleep:

Nym, my answer is in you Rep files....I'm gonna let everyone keep sweating.

Mainly because I don't have a scramble on hand.

Clue #3 is for those who were neither as quick nor as sharp as Albedo. :poke:

#3 if you see his friend, you're probably delusional, too.)

I don't know why you would say my friend Elwood P Dowd was delusional. I will now invisibly hop at you. Albedo should have a word for y'all by now. For my part I'm still officially out of here.

I have two trees in my yard and never got Steel Magnolias from them...of course one is a pine and the other a maple.
Good one Revisionist :)

I'm going to bed, so even if you don't need the second clue, I'm posting it anyway.

TERMS OF ENDEARMENT, which always makes me cry--not because of the movie, but because it reminds me of my ex, who had the habit of calling me "Rodfannee."

Back in a minute with a word; gotta check my facts first.
