Hi, guys!

My husband and I have been invited to a costume party for Halloween. The theme is "your favorite literary character." We don't really have A favorite, of course, and we'd really like to do a "couples costume" set since Halloween is our anniversary (five years this year.)

Any suggestions? I'm leaning toward Gully Foyle and a Scientific Person.

Also, no vampires. Although there are lots of literary vampires and vampires are great for Halloween, Will and I both really think vampires are lame.

Something from Shakespeare? Romeo and Juliet? MacBeth and Lady MacBeth?

Rhett Bulter and Scarlet O'Hara?

Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple? ;-)

Alice and the Cheshire cat?

Claire and Henry from Time Traveler's Wife? Of course, that means your husband must arrive naked...

I like Gatsby and Daisy. And then there are always the Jane Austen couples to choose from.

AW. A very nice place!
... Raskalnikov. Carrying about a fake axe you might chop people up with it, whilst your hubby ransacks the joint and steals jewelry and whatnot.

I should probably also add that my husband is a hairy Italian who weighs 300 pounds. So, like, Tarzan and Rhett Butler...maybe not so much.

Fun suggestions, though!
