3/4 Million Words

I know word counts aren't a big thing for some people, but they're my Milestone of Choice to motivate myself, and my goal for 2009 is 1,000,000 words. Tonight I crossed the 3/4 mark.

750,000 words.

The 750,000th word was "seeking", since you asked.

Next stop: 1 million.

That is all.

Scrunching my arms down to double-check that the shirt's firmly in place, even a little snug around the waist these days, I find myself looking over my shoulder before I go into Subway because I just can't compete with that Jared and his $5 Veggie Footlong, and all I can think of is "Man, that's a lot of writing!"

And here I was so proud of the 9 episodic scripts, 2 features, novel, and one middle grade I'd written this year.

That's a huge amount of words. Congratulations. That's quite the goal right there. Maybe if things behave next year I'll make a goal half that and see if I can go for it. I can't even wrap my head around that many words in one year.
