Yep. What's the world coming to?

This guy I do website work for off and on couldn't stand to see me poking along on dialup any more. The package was delivered just after lunch. Hard part was drilling two holes so my modem hangs out of the way -- and deciding where it should hang.

Good grief. Now I can go lookie all the purdy pitchers.

Now you can talk to your friend on the phone while emailing him, messaging him on facebook, chatting with him on myspace, tweeting about how much of an asshole he is, and watching him get hit in the nuts with a baseball on a youtube video--all at the same time! Amazing, isn't it. :D

Congratulations!

Since you got it working so quickly, I'm assuming it's not with AT&T.

Just one thing to miss about dial up

:hi: I haven't had dsl hooked up long either. I'm still surprised when I'm online and the phone rings. I hate to give up dial up though. So many accounts to change e-mail on and :poke: now the telemarketers can get through! :evil

And dsl reveals all my computers shortcomings. Can't blame it all on connection speed anymore.

:Jaw: I... am flabbergasted that anyone, anywhere in the universe, is still using dialup.

I just made the move to FIOS. :D

 ROTFLMAOPIMPASTC

You don't wanna know what went on when I set up at work with Animated Assholes & Trouble

Nossir, I'm with my same-old local ISP, modem hand-delivered by the techie. Pop! Gorgeous modem, too, not like the dinky toys you get with the abovementioned loathsome.

Jo dollink, some people live in odd places and others are very poor.

Soon, you'll be talking on cell phones, eating microwaveable meals and using unleaded fuels!

Welcome. It is a strange and terrifying time, but oh so rewarding!

I have eaten a microwavable meal (somewhen in the distant past) but I draw the line at cell phones!

Speaking of fresh cookies...I'm not in Windows right now, so all my cookies are very fresh -- Firefox-in-Linux oatmeal with lots of raisins.

I haven't given up windows, but I like Linux. I have both on my 'puter. :)

And as far as getting DSL... Back at my house in TN, I have two options. Dial-up or Sat. I'm not sure which is worse, really. :/

I use a pc for work which has xp. I use a macbook pro with osX for my daily work at the house, and typing. And my machines in the office (4 ru hp servers) are all running fbsd.

Linux is so 1997.

:)
