I've been re-telling Norse mythology sagas with modern settings recently. Does anybody know of another writer doing this? I've looked but didn't find any. It would be a huge embarrassment to find I've been copying another writer. It's like the time I made my vampire sparkle. Wow, I was totally ashamed that day!

I just started Norse Code by Greg van Eekhout (spelling?). The beginning at least was a retelling of the story with the arrow and the mistletoe and the dude who kills his brother...um I forget their names. I think the rest of the book is about Ragnarok in an UF setting.

There's a Tom Holt novel from 1987 called "Expecting Someone Taller". It's a pretty good read.

Then of course you've got Marvel Comics' version of Thor. And check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norse_mythology_in_popular_culture#Literature

Melvin Burgess's YA novels, Bloodsong and its sequel Bloodtide, are a reinterpretation of the Volsung Saga.
