I nearly posted this in Roundtable or a query/submission-based forum but thought, "No, SP. It's a thread started by you and quickWit's online, so you know it'll derail before the second page."

Office Party it is.

Thread title says it all.

As some of you may know, it was only last year I discovered my genre. Many thanks to tt42 for her help in that. And encouragement! Since then I've written and edited one novel, written the first draft of another, and reached the 70k mark on a third.

All well and good, you might think, but...subbing, queries, synopses oh my!

As KTC might say, "Oh the humanity!"

I dropped £15 on the W&A Yearbook 2010 today...I've bought previous years' volumes before and done pretty much next-to-nothing with them, but this time feels different. I'm a lot more confident about my writing, but still...

Getting jittery.

I have an edited novel and a W&A Yearbook, so...it's official. Let's do this.

I'm behind you.

Don't be afraid though, I'm religious now.

I had something for this...
Yeah, sarcasm really doesn't come through in these posts, does it? Perhaps if I use italics?

Go get 'em, Princess!

That's better.

Writer's and Artist's Yearbook. It lists all the agents, publishers, newspapers, magazines, contests, awards, bursaries and poetry presses in the UK - and some in the US too.

Cool beans. So it's like Writer's Market, but geared more towards UK markets.

I notice they have a website:

http://www.writersandartists.co.uk/

Didn't check it out much, but I have a sub to writer's market online that I found as much (or more) helpful (and up to date) than buying the actual book.

Yeah, I know. In between all this asshattery I've actually been working. Who'd'a thunk it?

I was about to say this will make no sense to anyone, but my threads rarely do.
