Has anyone dealt with this new publisher?

It would help greatly if you didn't throw this one into the pot without a website or link whatsoever.

How have you come across them?

OK, please clarify, is this the company you are querying?

Just adding link:

ETA: Oops, too slow.

Sorry didn't include a link. I guess I can use the "new girl" card this one time.

Yes, that is the link to the website. Wondering if there are any thoughts out there about this publisher.

thanks

Quick look and review.

New, Children's Magazine orientation, look a bit amateurish and clumsy in their presentation. Difficult to see what market or aims they really have. Small operation.....

So...why would you be querying them?

Are you connected with them and looking for an early review to test their services and website, or genuinely looking at them for a children's submission to their magazine?

Geesh. Tough crowd. I'm not connected with them. Just a writer wondering if anyone has had something published with them and if they liked working with them. I did get a short story accepted by them for the magazine, but I was interested in their manuscript submissions page. Trying to do my homework. Perhaps this isn't the right place to ask?

Why don't you take a deep breath, Mick. Terry was asking a simple question, not looking for the third degree. Sheesh.

TerryLynn, if I may, let me invite you to the Royalty Thread. It's a group of friendly, helpful people that I think you'd enjoy meeting. If you wish, here's the link

Come on over and visit. You'll be most welcome. :)

P.S. We've also got some Canadians in there, too.

Personally, I'd want a publisher who understands and respects both trademarks and copyrights. I.e., he can paste all the disclaimers he wants on his Disney clip-art pages, but it's still wrong. And to openly link to it on his publisher page displays additional lack of judgment.

Perhaps more importantly,

Due to unforeseeable circumstances, Irish's Story Playhouse Publications is closed indefinitely for Submissions.

Page Updated on: September 13, 2009

Many of the other pages hadn't been updated since February.

I was just informed by Irish's Story Playhouse Publications that the contract they had sent me for Dogsled Dreams (which I was still reviewing) is being cancelled due to the publisher's personal health issues. Sad for them, and me.

Sad for them, and me.

Don't think of it as sad for you. Think of it as a lucky escape.

Thanks James. Yes, you're probably right. It's just that I was already knee deep in my book tour fantasy. *Sigh*

Went "under construction" early '11, and is gone now.
