Maybe you should point out that you're not dead and like to have a little fun?

Something like that. And in a Detroit suburb, it's doubly nervous-making.

EEK...well, it's settled then...Syn, NF and Del....you are all invited to my place in Florida for the New Year....oooh, or maybe St. Patty's Day

I worked Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. There are three girls in my department. Each one is suppose to work a holiday, the third girl didn't work any of them and I got jipped. I'm their boss, but the scheduling boss is over me, so what can you do? :Shrug:

What Del said. I can't get wasted and then get up at five and go to work for nine hours. I could, but...that wouldn't make for a very good New Year's Day, I don't think.

I got them when I was younger but apparently older then most kids. I've heard they're more severe if you get them after a certain age. I got them all over my face, chest, scalp. Ugh, they were awful. I still have some old scars from them after then finally healed. It's odd how they can be mild in some kids and so severe in others.

Pox and cooties. What a combination.

And the truly frightening thing is: This is nowhere close to the weirdest discussion topic(s) known in this thread.

My cousin had chicken pox when he was in the Navy - he ended up in the hospital.

Speaking of people who've never had them, my sister slept in my bed both times when I had them - she never ran a fever, never had one little itchy spot even.

But then she's weird.

And speaking of weird, ever since the second time I had them, I break out in hives when I'm too cold - water less than 69 degrees, snow, cold winter winds - any skin except my face and hands.

No Bake Cheesecake
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz whipped cream or Cool Whip
1/3 c sugar
graham cracker or chocolate cookie crumb crust
* red food coloring
* peppermint extract
* crushed candy canes

*'d ingredients and directions make this peppermint - those without stars make this vanilla/plain cheesecake*

Soften cream cheese. Mix cream cheese with sugar using electric mixer until well blended. *add 1 tablespoon peppermint extract and 3 drop/enough red food coloring to make mixture pink - mixing with mixer until color is distributed evenly.* Gently stir in whipped cream/Cool Whip. Good day, reppers.

A quiet home is something that I'll know in about three hours when everyone else runs off to work. I'm off today, so YaY. :)

I was supposed to write 10k words today.

Now it is 5pm and that would require 1k per half hour until 10pm.

Doable, but not so happy fun times, ya'know?

So basically, rep me?

That's not exactly what I said. :D

Ouch, Rachel.

Today, I'm going to try to make crumpets. I didn't know people made those. I thought they just... you know... grew in patches behind supermarkets or something.

If those fail, my back-up plan is apple and walnut scones.

...Then we had dinner, watched a bit of the Criminal Minds marathon and was in bed by 10, totally knackered.
...

I've become quite addicted to that show now that I've discovered they re-run it like crazy on the ion channel (whatever that is). Before that, it was Law & Order: SVU (which still rocks) but I enjoy the fact that on CM they overuse the word "unsub" to death and it still works. :D

I just wish the sun would've came out. Last night I froze to death, had to wear gloves and a sweater while I was in my room on the computer. I have a little heater in here, practically on the bed, but still couldn't feel it. Pipes froze again, didn't bust though. Ugh sick of the cold!

Ditto. It was freezing over the weekend here. A little warmer today but another "arctic wave" (as our weatherpeople like to call them) is coming through soon.

I also drove all the way to somewhere I needed to go on my lunchbreak only to discover I forgot my purse. *sigh* I shall attempt this journey again tomorrow.

Yes, but knowing where I live and getting to it are two entirely different propositions.

Hi, Beatrix.

A little warmer here today, but not much. It's the night's that are really bad and hard to keep my pipes from freezing. heh, I've done that before- gone somewhere and left my purse at home and either had to go all the way back for it or just forget about what I was going to buy. It sucks, especially at the grocery store.

:hi: Do you do the "faucet" trick? Leave a faucet on all night (just a trickle of water) and that usually helps keep pipes from freezing.

As far as my purse, the weird thing is, I never forget it, ever. It's been years since I've accidentally left it somewhere. Thank goodness I left it at work at my desk. Course, then I had to try the doorbell at work and my coworkers were looking at me funny through the window since I was just standing there at the door instead of coming right in. My work door swipe is in my purse. It was definitely a Monday. lol.

Yeah, I forgot to leave the water dripping. I remembered it last night, and it hasn't froze again. :) I was lucky it didn't bust.

I think it's in the twenties tonight, so that's a lot better. Weatherman said we were in for a warm up and snow. :Wha:

Funny isn't it? It's too cold to snow...we're getting a little warm-up and possibly snow.

:Wha: <--- that's my reaction to meteorologists most of the time. LOL

slcboston
01-04-2011, 08:04 PM
The odd thing about the meterologists is they can actually do better with the mid-range forecast than day to day. I think it has to do with the patterns and such that cause the weather, but there's sort of a zone where the probabilities stack up in their favor.

:Shrug:

It's a LOT of math, so I give them credit for what they do get right, even if I am hoping they are mostly wrong today.

morning reppers- just kind of passing through here today.

We've got a fairly warm--higher than freezing--day with bright sunshiney skies. Good day for what we're doing. Can't really complain.

Just wish I was back in bed and very unconscious.
