Okay. I had an alien in my stomach last night trying to make me throw up my supper as I ate it, but it could be worse.

My boss did make some sort of comment yesterday about how hopefully my doctor would be put me on leave soon. I think the stress and anxiety of the unknown is freaking her out? It's weird. I'm not that worried. If I go into labor at work, I'll be the least freaked out person about it in the building probably.

If I fed off the anxiety of other people, I'd be a freaking train wreck about now.

This reminds me of something.

My ex and I, while we were dating, had this big bag of watermelon flavoured hard-lollies... I had one every day, and wasn't even making a dent in them, so we poured the rest into a bottle of vodka and had watermelon-flavoured vodka one night. At the end of the night, there were these alcoholic lollies left in the bottom of the bottle. I tried one and it was foul, so we threw them away.

Not quite alcoholic punch, but still...

Caitlin Black
08-12-2010, 06:38 AM
Vodka was the cheapest spirits in the state at that point, so we drank a LOT of it... we were typical young Uni students - drinking all night, every night. In hindsight not the smartest thing I've ever done...

Still, I only ever threw up from alcohol twice... so I count that as a minor success, given how many times I got plastered in that 2-year period...

Caitlin Black
08-12-2010, 06:39 AM

lemon drop shots made with vodka are awesome as well...shot of vodka, lick a touch of sugar from your hand and suck a lemon

Part of me just wishes we had a normal sized bathtub. I'm not exactly tiny and the girls' bathroom has a smaller than normal tub and our master bath has a huge jacuzzi tub that will drain the hot water heater before it ever fills above your thighs. So if I just want to soak in a tub of hot water, I have to go to my mom's.

DeleyanLee
08-12-2010, 07:12 PM
We have a wonderful claw-foot tub dating back to when the house was built (1930's) that's still in fantastic condition. I totally understand what you mean about draining the hot water before it gets over the thighs. Totally. The tub was one of the bennies of the house--but the hot water tank sucks.

One of the dream projects is to put in one of those tankless hot water heaters. Y'know, the kind that just heats the water as you need it, as much as you need, and you never have to worry about the tank running out.

Then--watch out! We'll corner the bubble bath market. ;)

*THOSE* are great. We had one in China - though, ironically no bathtub - but I'm still sold on the concept. I also think they use energy a lot more efficiently than the big tank kind. If the time ever comes where I have my own house, that's one of the things I will insist on.

No, wait, the pickles were about deviled eggs. I remember now. I had nothing to do with it being brought up one way or another....

Come to think of it, the pickles might even have been your doing. I'd backread the thread, but that would come perilously close to deciding it would make a difference to my position on the whole subject.

Which I don't think it would.

it's actually pretty cool here today. I opted for jeans instead of shorts. I didn't think it was supposed to be - and according to the weather it's not - but nonetheless there is quite the breeze.

It's nice, in a way, just makes me wonder what all else they got wrong. Especially with the overcast skies.

Hi Laurie!! Thanks, I think I am going to qualify. From everything I was just told if I had quit my job I wouldn't, but because it's due to company cutbacks I should. Shame the rep at the Unemployment Agency couldn't tell me for sure, but that's what she is thinking anyway. I know, lol!

Hmmm. I thought they were further apart than that, but I'm averaging a 45 sec contraction about every 5 min according to the contraction master website. That's one freaking handy tool to have, actually.

TJ...that's getting pretty close and at 45 seconds long for each one....wow, be careful that you don't wait it out too long

With my first, contractions would come about every 7 minutes from the get-go, but the pain/intensity was light. My doctor had given no instructions on when to call, other than to call if I thought I was in labor. I called him and he didn't ask about intensity or anything, just instructed me to go ahead and head over to the hospital.

The nurse in triage acted like I wasn't in labor because my contractions weren't starting at the top of my stomach. They were all down low like menstrual cramps. I was in labor, but it was very early labor and I had no business being at the hospital at all.

But I have a bag I packed in case I went into labor away from home and just last week, I threw the big bag in the back of the van. The only thing I'm missing is my laptop. Would have been an awesome boy scout.

Why can't I wake up again today? This is insane and I'm really getting sick of it.

Too much sleep?

My contractions are getting a bit stronger and a bit closer together. Debating starting a labor watch thread. I'm quite useless at work today.

oooh, a labor watch thread...I like that idea...so long as it doesn't actually involve having to *watch* you in labor

I'm still scarred from my own experiences...yikes

:)

I'm heading out to lunch, but I doubt I eat much. My appetite just isn't there. We'll see how things are afterward.

This is pretty cool, since I remember when she found out what the baby was going to be and been along for all the 'growing' pains. And the best thing is that I won't be the sleepless one when he gets here. LOL

Lol! I did start a labor watch thread. Unfortunately it's all petered out and mostly just irritating now. Oh well, we'll wait for another day or days, depending on what Mr. Stubborn decides.

Or I could try to pick things up with sex or something.

Um, ouch? You could try walking. That's what they made me do.

I expect the next bout will be the real thing TJ. Good luck.

Morning reppers!

Since it's been just us girls in here: I lost my mucus plug overnight. It might be coming still, just slowly, which is the way I'd prefer.

Good news, TJ. Slower is better too!

Sounds like good progress, TJ.

Just like a guy, though--can't make up his mind if he's gonna rush you or make you wait. ;)

lol

My contractions had picked back up in the evening while I was fixing dinner and stuff, but I slept like a dream last night, which was wonderful. I feel funky today, which prompted my husband to ask if he needed to take off work tomorrow. He's nailed it before on when he should stay home before I was in labor with my first.

Funny how some dads know this stuff, isn't it? I'd be trusting him. If nothing else, it's a long weekend opportunity. I'm all for long weekend opportunities.

Besides, if you have the baby this weekend, you'll be free for the Labor Day weekend festivities, if you folks do anything.

Well, I've not had very many contractions today, but I don't feel like work is the place to for me to be. And I have no appetite. My mom shoved some breakfast at me and I regret eating it.

Hubs and I have been together 14 of my 28 years as of December. He ought to know me by now, lol. I do tend to listen to him as he's usually right.
