we ....

have...

*SNOW*

not a lot, mind you, and by now it's mostly gone - which allows me to be happier about it, but there was enough I had to brush off the car this morning.

Why am I happy about this? Dunno. Just am. :D

oh, hey - speaking of things to deal with.

I see next spring Pittsburgh is tapped to handle yet another international-type gathering.

You thrilled? :D

No snow where I am. But it is pretty cold!

Oh and I am now a glorious beacon of light!

Nope. Haven't heard a thing about it. Guess my head-in-the-sand trick is working rather well. ;)

Ah. That's kinda like a movie-thing, then. That's nothing. We generally have 3-6 Hollywood movies filming in the area any given month, so it's totally old hat. Barely even a mention in the middle of the entertainment section of the newspapers.

I remember when it used to be a big deal in Pittsburgh when Hollywood came to town. Now look at you, all jaded and such. Start hiring cabbies who don't speak English and you'll be well on your way to being a mini-NY :D

ROFL!

Actually, it helps a lot that I live 30 miles east of the city itself and all my business is only in Oakland, with rare exception. Really limits my interaction with stuff like that.

But I'm not joking about it barely rating a blurb in the newspapers. Sometimes when an A-lister comes to town, it gets a mention on the TV, but generally it's just business as normal. Just another Pittsburgh cottage-industry, this movie-stuff, y'know? LOL!

Del - the fun part is picking the places off the screen that were shot in Pittsburgh even though they aren't set in Pittsburgh...

Like that "Smithsonian" museum in "Silence of the Lambs" :D
