Happy day for Sneaky! :D

We're expecting around 8" of white stuff by tomorrow. I took tomorrow off.

OTOH, I should be able to use tomorrow to write this time. When I'm not out shoveling.

Watching weather, depends on track of storm.

Could get zilch to shove-able amounts.

It is nice to know I don't have to fuss about it tomorrow, though. Whatever happens.

Sorry to hear about all the white stuff Del. :( I think we're supposed to be getting more too. Ridiculous considering how much we already have.

Thanks guys.

Today I had to make the normal mile hike to get to the bus station. Over the weekend, the city decided to seriously CLEAR all the streets of access snow. Most got carted away in dump trucks--but TONS got shoved onto cleared sidewalks. Made the hike about 45 minutes instead of the usual 15-20 this morning. Not to mention we're likely to get cited for not clearing our walkways, even though everything solid ice and impossible to move (or where to put it--can't put it back in the street, after all).

Normally, I like winter. It's pretty. It gives me all the excuses in the world to cuddle up in flannel, with hot drinks and laze the days off away. This winter sucks dirty duck butt in spades.

Morning, reppeeteers!

It's a glorious snow day and I'm snug at home with my kitty on my legs. I'm even thinking about getting some of that W-stuff done since it's a planned day off and I can relax between shoveling expeditions.

Somehow I've got to come up with something brilliant and cryptic that the goddess can tell the queen that she won't understand, but will tell the hero exactly what's going on.

Don't you love a challenge? LOL!

OTOH, the zero-sodium oatmeal I found at the store is rather tasty. :D

Awww....have fun writing! I do love a challenge and wish I could spend the day writing like I spent my time off last week with the snow. But it's back to work. I'm trying to get work out of the way so that I can write instead. :D

Tin is enjoying cup o Joe, AW and Honey bunches of oats before the chaos begins.

I'd like coffee, but we don't make it at home and going out isn't happening today.

Honey Bunches Of Oats is one of those cereals I'd probably like, but something about the first slew of commercials I saw on it just turned me off on the product that it's registered in my mind as something I'll never eat. It wasn't gross and disgusting, like one of the Quizno's ads (you will NEVER get me to eat at Quizno's--that's how gross and disgusting that ad was), but I just can't bring myself to buy HBOO.

Weird how the mind works sometimes, eh?

Grrrr....
Skwirrel rantings....

Work has been drag arse slow since Monday. And I mean d.r.a.g. a.r.s.e. s..l..o..w.. Form 8:30 - 10:30 I sat in front of my work computer and only was able to download 3 reports. 3! By now usually, there are buccus of reports waiting to be transcribed and there's nothing. Absolutely nothing.

My bills will not get paid this way....

Grrrr...

An IM to my wonderful contact person (who apparently has enough work to keep her busy on two log in's btw) about what's up with my hospital resulted in an "all our hospitals are slow today" reply. What? All the doctors in the 5 NJ/NY hospitals have suddenly stopped dictating reports? Seriously?

Grrrrr....

Thanks, Sneaky! I got some writing done, and I got some actual work done (which is good to do while i"m at work), and now I'm trying not to fall asleep before I go home.

Sneaky Devil

Working? .. While you're at work? The shame! :D

Good to get some writing done too. And falling asleep at the comp will only get you keyboard marks on your face and then you'll have some 'splaining to do. :D

Good point, sneaky. I will wait and fall asleep in my wine when I get home.

I know ,work at work? But I had all but 6 hours off last week due to snow...can't complain really.

Sneaky Devil
02-17-2010, 11:39 PM
Ouch, that's gotta suck. Stupid weather messin' up stuff for people.

It's a wonder we all don't move to somewhere warm and shiny where there's never a snowflake to be found.

Personally I think I'd hate it. I may not like winter, but I do like it. I know how that sounds, but my thing is, I'd rather be cold than hot. Weird, I know. :D

Alpha Echo
02-17-2010, 11:46 PM
I so want to move to a place such as you described. One day, when we retire. Can't do it now cuz the SO's job is here - if we moved, he'd lose all his contacts, and trust me - we don't wanna do that. He's got some great contacts and gets well-paid jobs (as a contractor). So...looks like we wait for retirement - we'll live on the beach somewhere with no one else around and water all around us so he can fish all day. And I will write. And ahhh..that'll be the life..

And yes, you're weird.

Sneaky Devil
02-17-2010, 11:52 PM
*giggle* Yes, very weird. But whether you want to admit it or not, all of you lurv me for it. :wag:

Now, I don't think that retirement plan sounds shabby at all. Maybe some day I'll want to move away from the mitten I live in, but for now, I'm content freezing my rump off every year for a few months. :D

Remember how I was whining earlier today about not having any work? Figured out why... as soon as my loverly contact person logged off, the reports starting downloading like nobody's business. Work hasn't been slow since she logged off. Either the doctors all waited for her to leave (like they'd know) or loverly contact person has been blocking me. Since she logged off, I've been able to get done double the amount of work I usually am able to do all day - and the reports are not the colonoscopies and stuttering docs I am normally stuck with - these are easy consults and whatnot.

So, I talked to hubs (who's been saying for years that contact person is evil) and we're changing my schedule. I'll work noon to midnight and see if this is a fluke or if I am indeed getting shafted when I work daytime hours.

:wag: at you, contact person.

Are they teenagers yet?

:e2fight:

LaurieD
02-18-2010, 07:22 AM
She can direct/route who gets which dictated reports from the main office to all of us remote drones.

We should rough her up good. She's a regular beach. I sat all morning waiting for work to come in - was able to download only 3 reports all morning. She logged off around 4. I haven't had to wait for work since - clicky the download button and voila - work is downloading with no wait time whatsoever.

And she doesn't get my sense of humor at all. :Jaw:
