I was talking to someone earlier who was surprised that we don't have any "rules" posted for this forum. And it got me to thinking how very few policies we do have, and that some might be worth sharing for those who are new or have not frequented this room in a while.

The first rule is, there really aren't any rules.

And the second rule is, if you break any of the aforementioned rules, you'll be in BIG trouble!

Aside from those golden rules, we try to discourage "shout-out" threads, in which individual or collective members are honored; and also rep-sharing threads, except for the Obsessive Rep Point Checkers Club.

That is all for now, though I'm sure with some help, I'll think of more as this thread progresses.

And I think we're supposed to be nice to fish too. Or something.

Btw, why is that a rule? Not complaining, mind you. Simply curious.

I'm glad you brought that up. And I often wonder myself about the gender of certain members. In the end, though, does it really matter? Should we even be concerned about the sex of our fellow posters?

I'd say, Hell yes, it matters. A lot. To me, anyway. But is it appropriate to ask? No, it's not. Eventually, the longer a person posts, the more of their true self evolves, so there shouldn't be any need to ask for further proof of their gender.

Seriously tho, it doesn't matter. I just noticed that a thread like that was recently closed, and it piqued my curiosity.
