Nope- the little suckers stay put unless they die while the host is still alive, then the bowel motility will push them out- but if they are still alive while the host dies- they don't budge
Thanks y'all! I wondered about that and thought I'd run it by you. Yes, ewwwwwwwww but hey, it threw an interesting twist into a dialogue going on and I figured I'd use it. I only have to shift a couple of sentences to make it still work.
I remember being told in science class too many years ago that after the tapeworm kills you, it crawls out either through the mouth or the other end. But I have no proof and can't even remember which science teacher said that.
Ravenlocks: Alas, the character is killed off by exsanguination so I doubt the worm is going to show up that quickly. Although who knows? I was sort of hoping it would.

Sometimes the embalming chemicals transform them into zombie tapeworms, then they come out and try to crawl inside a new host whilst he sleeps (they are attracted to snoring noises). Then they'll turn that person into a zombie.
