Okay, I'm a week late, but who's counting? I've got 5 suggestions (aside from one very new release) so 5 choices it is.

What I really really need is some feedback. We are doing newer stuff lately and that is going over well. Should we be doing less SF??? Any thoughts, suggestions, hazings? We can't have a book study if people stop taking interest! So speak up! :)

The Accidental Time Machine by Joe Haldeman.

Sounds like an interesting premise.

ETA: in the spirit of having discussed cyberpunk recently... Snow Crash? Neuromancer? I've also been needing a reason to get off my ass and read Altered Carbon, which I've been told is cyberpunky.

Solaris by Stanislaw Lem

Lots of people have seen the films, not so many have read the book. I think the book is better than the films made by Tarkovsky or Soderbergh, but I might be alone on this one?

I voted for Accidental Time Machine, but Snow Crash is one of my all time favorites.

I don't know what's up with SF peeps representing, but I don't think I'd take kindly to a more Fantasy-centric reading list. :scared:

Ah, good, a SF defender. :)

I'm a fantasy person ofc, but we all need to read out of our comfort zone sometimes, ya?

I voted for Neuromancer, as I see it as kind of the template for cyberpunk but all of the books look interesting.

I voted Neuromancer because I haven't read any Gibson before.

Darn, Solaris was in the lead!

Ya'll aren't supposed to vote against me! I'm your fearless leader!

:D

(Maybe that will sway some votes, lol)

(No, but seriously, vote how you will. And I hope ppl will join us, even if 'their' book doesn't win.)
