When I was little my parents used to sing me Joy To The World (the Three Dog Night version, not the Christmas song). It makes me happy whenever I hear it. It is a heartwarming song about an alcoholic frog, or something.

Here goes a weird video of the band lip-synching to their original recording on some tv show I am too young to recognize. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqnAaCxaL3E

Don't judge me, and this may be an overshare...

but the Don't Worry Be Happy song came out when I was 16, living in Oklahoma in a filthy, disgusting, doublewide trailer with my alchoholic mom who often took off for many days in a row without paying the rent or the electric bill. I'd be at home alone in the God-aweful heat, listening to the landlord bang on the front door and hiding in my room with my battery powered transistor radio. That song would come on, and it would make me laugh and know better times could be ahead.

And they were, I just had to move back with my dad.

My comfort song is Queen - Radio Gaga. It just has a calming and nostalgic effect on me. I'm not really sure why. I guess it just reminds me of when I was young.

Now that I think about it, life kind of sucked when I was young. I'm not sure why this is comforting. :p

I'm not judging you, but scarletpeaches and her baboon army probably are.

My comfort song is--yes, you may all mock me--Neil Diamond's Cracklin' Rosie. My folks would always play me that song when I was a wee lass of three or four.

That and my mother used to sing Early One Morning to me each night.
(A song all you BtVS fans should be familiar with.)

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now.

Never fails to perk me up. It's going to be my funeral song.

Heh. My parents still break into that song. Spontaniously. And often. Loudly.

Jeramiah was a bullfrog!
Was a good friend of mine!
Never understood a single word he said,
But he always had some mighty fine wine!

I... wouldn't call it heart warming, exactly. :tongue But it is funny. :)

It is heartwarming! You've got the words wrong!

Never understood a single word he said,
But I helped him drink his wine,
And he always had some mighty fine wine!

Also, he wishes joy to the world, all the boys and girls, the fishes in the deep blue sea, you, and me. And! If he was the king of the world, he'd throw away the cars and the bombs and the wars and make sweet love to you. That's well heartwarming!

I've always loved this song, and it was the first record I ever brought

Raindrops keep falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothing seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Cryings not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
Because I'm free
Nothings worrying me

Raindrops keep falling on my head….

My Dad used to sing me the Joy to the World too! (Until he flipped is nut and spent his last 5 years thinking I was my mom...then he started singing love songs. Creepy.)
