Any good authors to read for inspiration to write humor? My friend told me last week to read David Sedaris. Any others?

Dave Sedaris for certain. I also just read Hugh Laurie's novel, "The Gun Seller" and had to put it down three times in the first six page to wipe the tears away... best read I've had in a LOOONG time. He's a genuis.

Also, I find Stephen King to be a wonderful source of stream-of-consciousness humor. I know... weird source material, but he is actually very, very funny. If you haven't seen his book "On Writing" (I got the audio book version) you can really get into the rhythm of his humor. And it had a lot of interesting info too.
