Yes, Blake passed away this afternoon from cardiac arrest.

I can't believe this. I had just e-mailed him this morning to make lunch plans while he was to be in NYC mid-August, and I wondered why he hadn't answered...

Blake was an amazing writer, mentor, guru, and man. So generous and giving, never seemed to have a bad day. I hope he knows how much he was loved.

That is sad. I often agreed to disagree with his views on movies in general but his professionalism and confidence couldn't be denied. And I use the Beat Sheet all the time.
