View Full Version : Anthology Markets?

Hi all,

Was searching the web for anthology markets and haven't found too many - Just Cup of Comfort and Chicken Soup for the Soul. Does anyone know of any others - or even a list?

Just checking,

Duotrope.com and ralan.com list a lot of anthologies.

yeah, they do. Also, good old google cranks them out and you can dial in what you don't and don't want to look at.

Sometimes here on AW there are call-outs. I got into two anthologies through announcements on AW. :) Keep subscribed to the paying markets or leads forums here.

I just came across this blog: http://anthologynewsandreviews.blogspot.com/ - some calls for submissions are announced here too - some are not paid so well, but seem fun anyway!

Does Chicken soup for the Soul buy just first rights or..? What about the others?

Thanks - I'll keep checking on that blog. I just received an advance copy of "Christmas Traditions" an anthology of, duh, Christmas stories! Took me almost TWO years to finalize the deal and I received $75.00 for the story. Not bad for a piece I wrote 30 years ago in a beginning writing class!

Everytime I try to get to this anthology website, I get an message saying "this page is dangerous". Is anyone else have trouble logging on?

No, I just checked. In fact the original owner of AW (Jenna Glatzer) wrote an article on that front page called "How To Outgrow Write What You Know." Maybe it's your security settings, hungry4more?

Carlene--Christmas Traditions, out this year and edited by Helen Szymanski? I'm in there with you!

Chicken Soup just put in an urgent callout for stories for runners, if you have any stories in that line. They changed the scope of the book and are pressing to fill in 30 more stories. Deadline is, I think, November 30, so it's a rush, but a good chance if you've got a story. Wish I did, but I don't have anything in that line. I don't even let the water run around here!

Hey, all, that's way cool you guys have stories in the Christmas Miracle book. I have one too in there. Mine is "A Christmas Lesson" and Maggie, (writesforlaughs) a member here, has one in also, "A Christmas Miracle." Can't wait to read your story, Carlene & Amy's! Congrats.

That's wonderful Susie! So glad to hear it!

COOL! I'm going to go find my copy now and read your stories! It's so nice to "know" others who are in the same book.

Congrats, ladies.

Susie, Sorry I've been meaning to get back here and I always end up somewhere else! I think we're in two different books. You're in Christmas Miracles and I'm in Christmas Traditions (My story is Too Much Christmas). I'm glad there are enough Christmas books to go around. Have a wonderful holiday!
