My experience with bookmarkers is as follows:
1.General audiences (restaurant counters, motel lobbies, etc) are a waste. Likelihood that a reader of your genre of fiction picks it up are very small.
2. Targeted audience (book signings, libraries, contests for chats, etc) do work, though its not my most effective promo activity.
