There are rumors floating around within the industry that Atlus is currently plugging away at *some* kind of SMT game for the PS3 right now, but whether that's Persona 5, or a Shin Megami Tensei 4 sequel in the original series is all up in the air right now.

The cynic in me says it's likely Persona 5 (still not a bad thing) since the last two sequels did so well for them.

Wow, there's a lot of sequels and IP work in this thread.

Nature of the industry these days. Sequels are a safe sell. It's getting harder and harder to introduce new franchises when you combine the full price of a retail game with the enormous cost required to produce a game in the PS3/360/PC high definition era. It's a risk averse industry for the moment.

I admit, I'm looking forward to any product developed by either Blizzard or Valve, regardless of whether it's a sequel or not.

I think I can include Bioware in that list, too.

Granted, they're not for everyone, but to me, Rock Band represents, in its simplest form, "Happiness in a box."

That game just really makes me enjoy the experience.

I've been a Pokemon fan forever.
Thus...
The game I've been looking forward to the most right now iiiiiis...

Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver.

Gold and Silver were the best of the Pokemon series so far, in my opinion, so the remakes have me excited. <3

Until then, I'm having much fun with Platinum. :3 7 Lvl 100 Pokemon so far, six from Pearl, one from Platinum itself, and a second one on the way up.
Plus, 443 seen, 412 caught. And counting!

Yeah, I'm a Pokenerd. BUT I'M PROUD. >D

Anyway, there was a lot in this year's E3 that I was looking forward to, as well.
The KOTOR MMO
Mario Galaxy 2
New Super Mario Brothers Wii
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
(I'm a Mario fan, quite obviously. XD)
Brutal Legend
FF13, and the games that go with it.
Dragon Age
So much more! Just wish I had lots of money for all this. >__>

I'm looking forward to FF13 and FF14. But, the one I'm really holding on for is Baldur's Gate III. There were some tantalizing hints about it in a recent issue of PC Gamer, in addition to the rumours over the years. Fingers, toes, eyes crossed. :)

Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Assassin's Creed 2
The Last Guardian
Dragon Age: Origins
White Knight Chronicles

and even though I don't have a PSP, Final Fantasy Dissidia.

Yes, I am a huge Final Fantasy fan. I have played I-XII and wasted over a year of my life playing XI. =P I'm not sold on XIV yet cause of the many issues I had with XI, but time shall tell.

The Gold/Silver Pokemon remakes sound interesting as well, that was my favorite generation of the Pokemon games.

Seriously, when I played Dreamfall, I KNEW that the religious assassin character, Kain would be a lame, preachy, and totally paper thin character, but he turned out to be one of the most human, three dimensional and well written characters I had ever seen. It made me soooo happpyyyyy :D

Along this vein, you know what I'm looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to the end of the Pokemon era when Nintendo finally decides to let the franchise 'go out' with a bang. I am looking forward to a huge MMO Pokemon world that incorporates all of the pokemon islands, territories, continents and ALL of the pokemon. Do you hear me, Nintendo? ALL of them. I don't want 3 versions of the MMO or for the updates to be drawn out across a decade, I want them ALL available in the FIRST installation. Legendary and rare pokemon could be the equivalent of raids or boss fights and you could set up instanced duels between friends or even between strangers or CPU battle arenas in the world. The battles would have the environment of where you chose to have them(desert, ice floe, ocean, etc) and the battle conditions would reflect the location. Gyms, ruins, caves, abandoned buildings, etc. would all be dungeons. Gym leaders would be a particular breed of bosses. Heck, in my vision of this non-existent wish, PCs would be able to get membership to gyms and try to keep others from reaching the gym leaders. Of course, throughout all of this are the various areas where the pokemon can be found and caught. If you want to be a breeder, open up your own day care and care for other PCs pokemon.

The possibilities are limitless. If Nintendo made this multiplatform and did away with the multiple version bull**** with varying numbers of pokemon (forcing you to buy the other versions), they would be able to grab the money of everyone whose ever loved pokemon and those who switched away from Nintendo at some point. Then with content updates and maybe new areas updated plus events and everything else that goes into a well thought out MMO, they could keep the money rolling in for decades.

This is what I'm looking forward to, even if it's only a wish. I loved pokemon back before I realized Nintendo's shitty methods of sucking money out of me.

Aliens vs. Predator 3 - the only game i'm remotely interested in atm...

although a re-release of the old coin op game cyberball (football with robots and an exploding ball instead of down markers that i played in arcades back in the late 80s early 90s) would rock...

I rather enjoyed Mass Effect. I rarely play newer games until awhile after their releases but got to play Mass Effect and liked it. Great story. So I'm looking forward to the new one. Since most everything else coming out anymore is a sequel to something I've never paled, it's hard to look forward to much else.

Although supposedly they may remake some of the other old LucasArts titles like they did with Monkey Island. If so, I'll definitely want those. And if we get a new Arc The Lad game I'd look forward to that as I'm just now finishing Twilight of the Spirits.
