Personal Essayist with a Pen Name...Doable?

I spent many years branding my given name and my company name. I want to branch out into personal essay writing but I don't want to use my real name because I'm not comfortable with clients, colleagues, and the media knowing about my personal life.

Would a magazine consider publishing a personal essay under a pen name?

Yes, of course. Unless your pen name were designed to mislead people about your age or ethnic background or something a la "Amado Muro" (an essayist about Chicano culture who turned out to be a non-Latino man named Charles Seltzer).
