A mere 28 Years after the BBC made a brilliant, enjoyable and faithful TV series based on John Wyndham's book, they're doing it again.

Apparently, the Beeb were convinced by the 'success' of reviving Survivors and Dr Who. Which presumably means all depth and character will be excised and replaced with running about and special effects.

Thoughts, comments and insults welcome.

*ducks* I have to say I liked the 60s movie better than the book. The book depressed the heck out of me. And I loved the SFX. To this day I think twice about looking up to see a meteor shower. :D

Yeah, I liked the movie. Never saw the TV series, though I believe I did read about it in Starlog or Famous Monsters back in 1981 or so. Of course, if I were with the prodco, I'd be less likely to mention Jason Priestley as being in the cast. ;)

I'm looking forward to this. It's a great book and while it probably will be a poor adaptation, there's at least half a chance it'll be good.
