She walked. Each movement brought her closer to the sea. Her feet were caked with a fine golden powder. Every step revealed a page of ancient text on the descending rocky path. Tiny drops of scarlet were embedded in each foot print. She tread amidst the ancient temples toward her rebirth. The ocean drew back as waves formed a cobra head. A glistening pearl was revealed nestled under the fat serpent's watery body. She dove open mouthed and swallowed the pearl as the snake swallowed her. Upon awakening she swam and each movement brought her closer to her birth.

She labored to swim up to water’s mirrored surface. Her once luminous body felt heavy and slow. Breaking through the silver skin of liquid she emerged in the form of a man. Mist rising off the lake shrouded him in an etheric aura. He pulled himself onto the sandy beach, he rolled over and mused- nothing bad has happened yet. His new body felt thick with desire. He convulsed into a gagging cough that forced a pearl from his mouth. He was lonely and naked as he walked toward the sun.
