Bonding with son

how about some sports activities, US dad wants to teach kid to play baseball but kid is huge cricket fan and cricket is superior, or US football compared to European Football (known to the masses here as Soccer). Food could also be a good area to explore, US dad takes kids out for burgers or kid takes dad out for his favourite Indian food and to teach dad a lesson he makes him eat a super hot curry.

A lot depends on the kids personality - is he a sporty type, geeky, into music US hip hop or heavy metal. Are they living in the US or in India or another area? What cultural differences exist dependant on where they live? Are they upper caste Indians who move in different circles from the rest of the community?

Have the car break down when the step-father is driving the son somewhere and then have both of them have to work together to get it fixed/towed. Or have them get stuck being surrounded by ducks sitting in the middle of the road, making them late, and have the father try and shoo them out of the road because the horn's not doing a darn thing.

If in the US, they could be driving somewhere remote and need to get food. The only place the find can be odd in a funny way:

- An Oktoberfest dinner where they are made to do The Chicken Dance
- At a place where a wedding party has taken over [again with the dancing ]
- Something involving large stuffed animals as waitors?

You get the idea If there are funny Indian elements to weddings [like special dances], the wedding party could be Indian and the son could teach his Stepdad what to do... less funny, maybe, but touching.
