View Full Version : Veinglory Blog

My writing blog is really just for occassional updates about my books. I keep the chatty stuff to the Cliterature blog (http://cliteratureblog.blogspot.com)and romance/erotic industry stuff to EREC blog (http://www.erecsite.com/blog.html). But I do wonder if my writing blog isn't a tad too bland and doesn't funnel people properly to my website or points of sale?

Any feedback appreciated.

Well, in comparison to the contagious eye-candy supreme of EREC or Cliterature, it is a little lack-luster, no?

The blurbs are wonderfully concise, but sometimes to the point of lacking interest, IMO, for the blog of a such a pro...

...hey, it seems like I remember looking at your official web-page before and it really popped...

...I mean, so much so that I remember it from a few years ago...

...why not copy that format for the blog?

As a last FYI, I usually use safari or firefox, but explorer at work rendered your text really ludicrously large. Like really, on my screen, it was that big. Seriously.

Wow. I will check my font size html. Thanks for the feedback. I think using the layout from veinglory.com might be a good idea if I can figure out how to do it....

It shouldn't be too hard to lift the code.... That way you can lift the nav bar from the upper left and keep that on the blog too. Always want to keep your readers close to that "books" tab, right? Looks like you've got very simple HTML 4.0, no CSS or anything confusing.

Looks like this pulls the jpeg for your name:

<!-- Here is the main title of the site-->
<DIV id=main-title>
<img src="v.jpg" alt="veinglory.com"></DIV>

Looks like this will place the navbar...

<!-- Here is the navbar - it's absolutely positioned on the left side -->

<div id="left-menu">
<p><a href="http://veinglory.com/index.html">Home</a></p>
<p><a href="http://veinglory.com/writing.html">Books</a></p>
<p><a href="http://veinglory.com/personal.html">Bio</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.veinglory.com/blog.html">Blog</a></p>

Hmm.... looks like I'm missing the colors though, where did they run off to?

Of course, the blog is in xhtml and has a css. But I think you can just drop that code in and most browsers will render it ok. I may well be wrong though....

Yep, probably wrong. Oh well... I'm sure you'll figure it out. Good luck!
