I’m thrilled to announce Harper Children’s Books will publish my middle grade adventure story in the fall of 2010. It’s taken several years, many rejections, and so many, many words written, revised and deleted to get to this point. There were times when I thought I would never climb out of the slush pile, and times when I gave up, only to start again. So now I’m tempted to print out all my email rejections from other projects, combine them with the paper ones, and have a lovely bonfire to celebrate. Thanks to the writers here who are always willing to step in with words of encouragement, sympathy and laughs when needed.
