So i wanted to start a thread so we could see a demographic of average age here. I've noticed in the past few days the new members coming in are around the 25-30 mark. Just a curiosity.

Which way do people on the -5 and -0 years vote?

I'm 30 years 4 months, so I went with 25-30 since I'm closer to that side for two more months. ;)

lol my wife just turned 31 last week and i wasn't able to be there for her B-day. :( she's all like "I'm officially an old woman now..."

Roll eyes at the wife's pitiful attempt at self deprecating humor!

Where do people under fifteen vote?

(Or is fourteen close enough for fifteen to twenty?)

Still, aren't there some people around here who are thirteen or even twelve?

Interesting demographic spread. I expected more of a bell curve peaking in the 30s. (As of my post it looks more like a sine wave.)

Personally, I think August birthdays rock. No other holidays in that month. But my anniversary is Halloween, so October rocks too.

My mom says she counts as she's a member by proxy. She's always asking what goes on, what we're saying, who's here. .
my wife is the same. When I told her about the place she asked half a dozen questions about the people on here. When we talk on the phone she asks if I've found anything important to apply to my work. She got upset when I told her the title of the thread where I said she "put the smack down".
She says, "Awe! They are gunna think I'm some kind of royal Bit@#!"
I says, "NO no no, anyone that has read any of my posts that talk about you know I do nothing but talk you up and probably includes bragging." :)

Man, I'm not sure a few of the things I've posted is appropriate for 14-year-olds. I never really gave this much thought. I find this almost disturbing. I've always just sort of assumed that I was dealing with fellow adults.
I started the poll with 15 because in general, without taking the actual AGE of the poster into account, I've found this website to be Very mature. People have lots of fun with topics that fun can be had with, but on matters where straight discussion is required, very good thoughts are provided. For those folks that are younger than the 15, There was no slight intended, I could have made the poll include every age from 6to80 but the poll was never intended to get a "census" level age demographic, Generalities are more than enough for my curiosity.

You youngsters prolly won't get that joke. You see kids, way back in the olden days, TV only came in two colors...black, and white. And there was one particular show called (wait for it....)

Leave it to Beaver. The Beav, as he was known, was a member of a wonderfully wholesome white-bread family named the Cleavers. And, one of the pranksters that was always making an appearance on the show and getting into all sorts of hijinks with the Cleaver kids was Eddie Haskell, pictured above.

And, there we have the uproariously funneh and long winded explanation to the above referenced joke.

Now I need a nap. :)

I didn't mean that I found your poll disturbing. Quite the contrary. What I found disturbing was that there are 14-year-olds out there reading posts by me that I intended for adults. Not that this is anyone's fault but my own for not realizing this.

The hills fill my heart with the sound of music

My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
that rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over
stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray

I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music

Yeah, the duplicate ages in each category threw me off, too, but I went with 30-35 since I'll be 31 in two months. Would have loved to have stayed in the 25-30 category, though.

(Btw, I know I'm probably not the first to mention it, but next time you might consider doing it like: 15-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35- 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, leaving off the duplicate numbers.
Or even by tens: 10-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, etc. But I guess it works as-is for those who calculate their half-birthdays. ;))

I'm 31 which I've just realised is the reverse of my shoe size. You suddenly became more attractive to me.

My husband wears a size 15 shoe. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is for him to find shoes that fit! And they're expensive!

No, SP, you can't have him. He's mine. :tongue

My first post and it has to be how old I am... with no pic of me to let you know I do not look as old as I am... which is probably ancient to most of you... I am 38 for a few more days. I still get carded though! (Yes, they are probably just being kind)

Anyhoo (or Anywho- depending on where you come from) you all are funny! I will be watching you, and waiting to post another! Jeesh, I sound like a stalker.

Its all semantics. If nothing else, the "error" in the poll reveals that there are quite a few people who post here that have serious anilitical qualities, so much so that choosing to put yourself in one bracket where you might be able to fit into another bracket garners significant internal debate.

Thats revealing to see for those people that had a hard time with it.. :)

lol my wife just turned 31 last week and i wasn't able to be there for her B-day. :( she's all like "I'm officially an old woman now..."

Roll eyes at the wife's pitiful attempt at self deprecating humor!

When she turns 40, 31 is gonna look a damn sight better than it does now.

I am ancient and forever.
I burn at the center of time and can see the turn of the universe.

...

So that's 'over 50' then.

I'm right there with you... did you see what it did as it slipped around that last curve?

not listening to her would have been disrespectful to her. I don't have any other pictures that I care to post of that nature in a "public" forum as its been mentioned by her. (not to mention not having permission for any others lol)
She mentioned that the posting of the picture "wasn't very respectful," and on that note, the only lack of respect I see possible would have been my oversight that there are people who might have had a problem with the picture on this forum in the first place. She had enough of a problem with it to say something about it and I pulled it down because from her perspective She's right. Doesn't mean I agree with that point of view, but I'll give her her due. Its no skin off my teeth and I'm not here to be controversial or offend people...

That picture has been widely viewed by friends And family, young and old, her's and mine, so again, I sincerely apologize if posting of, displaying of, and/or showing off of my wife's bare back/body and butt offended anyone here.

Also, if you check the sticky at the top of the page we have a thread for family photos. :)

I'll have to put some pics up, and I hadn't noticed that yet, thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Nope. That's what I meant. My thighs are too huge...I can't fit into into funnels. I know. It's sad.
