I'm working on a book on tea, right now focusing on uses for used tea leaves and/or leftover tea (see previous thread weeks earlier). I would appreciate it if somebody could verify/deny or detail the following two suggested uses:

1. A good friend of mine in Holland swears by using his
used leaves to freshen his fishpond. I've tried it
with my own fishpond, but noticed no effect. My pond
is significantly larger than his, though, so I can't
say for sure either way what would happen.

2. Used tea leaves to cure snowblindness (Labrador).

Thanks!

I put the words tea leaves snowblindness in the Yahoo search engine and came up with all kinds of stuff.

By "freshen," what do you mean?

Your guess is as good as mine -- I quoted the comment in full, and it was in the midst of a discussion of tea, so there was no pond-related context. I was hoping that somebody who knows a great deal about fishponds could explain.
