From any era, kids stuff or grownups stuff, tv show or movie! Most favorite ever! Bonus points for links to youtube clips.

I'm torn between anything by Miyazaki (I fell in love with his stuff at 14, going to watch fansubs of Kiki's Delivery Service, Totoro, and Grave of the Fireflies at a university before they got properly dubbed and released in the states. Beautiful stuff, with beautiful strong heroines, and overall fantasy madness.), particularly Totoro, and "The Mighty B" on Nickelodeon. The MC of the show is a bad-ass girly feminist little nine year old romping freely through the streets of San Francisco. I think clip best this expresses the full awesomeness of the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6ryaZrC9hE (MC is the one with glasses)

That's almost impossible to answer. For film, I'd probably say Spirited Away or Mononoke; for anime TV, .hack/Sign, Lupin III and Full Metal Alchemist. For American animation, any major Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies short (depending on the day of the week), followed by Fleischers' Popeye. Then again, there're the Charlie Brown specials...

As a kid of the 90s, I was fortunate to see many excellent cartoons, but hands down, my absolute favorite was Animaniacs. Not only was it great for kids, but there's adult humor in there that still makes me laugh today. It saddens me to think that we'll probably never get another show like it.

Well the Smurfs is my all time fave series, but....

my favorite cartoon episode is a Looney Tunes one where daffy duck is a salesman and he goes around blowing everything up and then at the end he's just holding this doorknob and he says, "You need a house to go with this door knob"

But Fraggle Rock was about as awesome as you can get without being animated. That song was sooo infectious. "Down at Fraggle Rock"

I love the old Warner Brothers cartoons -- Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and all the rest.

Popeye, too. When I was a kid I always enjoyed watching the weekend Popeye cartoon show on KTLA channel 5 here in Southern California, hosted by Tom Hatten.

I like to think of myself as open-minded, but I don't like recent cartoons such as "Family Guy". They're way too crude for me.

No, Fraggle Rock aired on regular cable channels later on. We had barely any channels when I was little and I remember being riveted by the Fraggles. I was totally freaked out by the fact that they had to go ask a trash heap whenever they had a really pressing conundrum. But yeah, what a seriously awesome show.

PS Don't be hating on EFCollins, there WAS a Fraggles cartoon, a spin-off of the puppet version.

The Tick. If only because it is so VERY quotable.

This is another show that was incredibly well written. The voice acting + writing = ROTFLMAO

Ducktales.

Yes, how can you not love a show with a rich uncle who is SO rich that he swims in an olympic size pool filled with money.

The trash heap was so awesome. And the doozers (I think that was their name.) were my favs. I think they were a prelude to Bob the Builder. Only much, much better.

Can't believe I forgot about the trash heap. The dozers of course were cool. It was soo funny how they were always building and then the Fraggles would come by and just snap off a snack.

Speaking of which. Since the Fraggles loved radishes, I bugged my mom into oblivion to buy some radishes. She kept saying, "You won't like them" but I was undettered. Why? Well, because the Fraggles liked them so they had to be good.

Finally, my mom relented and bought some raddishes, gave them to me, I took them home and waited for Fraggle rock to come on. It came on, I had my raddish, I bit into it... and nearly spit up all over the T.V.

WTF? Why couldn't they pick a more kid friendly vegetable. I guess Bugs had the lock on carrots. Popeye had Spinach. Why not celery? That is edible.

You know what I remember most about all these cartoons and of course the Fraggles?

The THEME SONGS. I loved how the theme songs just transfered you to that magical world. I mean, it wasn't like I was watching TV, but rather, I was a FRAGGLE. Living at Fraggle Rock, or the Smurf Village, etc. etc.

It's amazing how I can be turning the channels or surfing the web and come across a theme song that just instantly takes me back 20 or 30 years.

I seem to remember a bit of sniping somewhere (Young Comic or Young Magazine probably - it's years since I read the article) about a lawsuit, but the English translation was iffy at best.

I don't think it ever got as far as an actual court case. The sour smell of theft stopped me watching Disney films, and the more recent revelations about re-used art in the films has put me off buying any Disney DVDs.

the original Scooby-Do series
and of course, many of the Loony Tunes.

In a perverse sort of way, though I wouldn't put it in the best category, I loved the old Merry Marvel Marching Society cartoons with Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, and Thor. Sure, yes, I admit all it was were the comicbooks photocopied and then "shaken" to show motion, but it was fun.
