some sad news about my dog

A lot of people comment on the adorability of my dog. And she really is. Today I found out she likely has bone cancer, among other things, and has about a month to live. I've decided to not stress her out anymore. She's in a lot of pain from her vertebrae starting to fuse together as well and enough is enough. She's been a great dog and she had a great life. Time for her to rest.

I'm keeping her for the weekend and taking her in on monday. It's very bittersweet. We recently got a new dog and we'll be getting a puppy in about a month as well, looks like, but I'm gonna miss her.

Give her extra hugs and scritches from the folks and critters in the Ol' Household... she'll be there at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting and playing with all the others 'til y'all get there. And y'all give each other hugs from Ol' Boy and me. We lost our Maggie to lymphoma way back in '92.

Aw Nevada, I'm really sorry to hear that. Non-pet people often don't realise how intense a bond you can form with an animal so unfortunately they can't understand the hurt. It can hurt like hell.

The only solace is that you know she will no longer be in pain. (((((((Hugs)))))))) for you.

I am sorry to hear about your dog. I had to have my dog put to sleep last year. She also had cancer. It is very hard.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Enjoy the weekend with her and I'm glad you're not letting her lay around and suffer. I lost a dog to cancer a few years back and boy did I cry. My thoughts are with you.

I am so, so sorry about your dog's health issues and your painful decision. I've lost several sweet babies over the years and my three girls now are my life.

Tell her when she gets to the Rainbow Bridge to look for Kippur, Lighter Knot, Ranger, Pepper, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Ginger Howard. They're all good angels.
