(What I wrote:

So, I stole this idea and thought it would be cool if we had a handwritten thread, be-
ing writers and all...

What do you think, guys?)

I should have been a doctor--I can't read my own handwriting.

I think Scarlet has a thinga-ma-bob she attaches to her laptop and used it once to post in her own handwriting. It was a while ago, and I don't remember the thread title or I'd share a link here; but it was very cool. Somehow, seeing her post in her own hand seemed personal and intimate and struck an immediate connection to the writer that type written thoughts can never convey. At least to me, anyway.

I have the same feeling about handwritten stuff, SK. I have two letters from my dad... they're very precious to me. Written in pencil, saying nothing of great importance, but he held that pencil and touched it to that lined notebook paper, feeding thoughts and feelings to me. Even after all these years, when I read those tattered notes, we're close once more.

As a teacher... I so get tired of trying to decipher other people's handwriting, esp. variations on cursive, spacing issues, and spelling issues.

But, I'm biased, having to read all those papers... which is what I should be doing right now. Um... not that I'm procrastinating or anything.
