View Full Version : Hallmark Greeting Card Contest Finalists

05-04-2009, 11:10 PM
This is really a thread for shameless self-promotion, but heck, somebody might take some inspiration and enter the next contest and win, so, I don't feel too guilty about posting it. ;)

Anyway, I am a finalist in their latest contest, and the 60 finalist's cards are online as of today. They are on sale (of course) online, and in June, they will be for sale in the stores. As a finalist, I won $250.00. The grand prize is $2,500.00, and it is determined by the number of sales the cards receive. If anybody needs a slightly insulting birthday card, well, I can point you in the right direction.:D

The Hallmark link (for those curious or interested) is
and if you click on the "Buy Online" link and scroll down four rows, my card is the one on the left (doggy with big eyes).

Hey, if I can be a finalist in this thing, I know we have lots of talented Absolute Writer's that have a shot at winning the next one. At the very least, it was fun.

Congrats, Epon! I didn't see which one yours was. They are very funny. Thx much for sharing the link.

You're welcome Susie. If you follow the link, click the buy online button and scroll down to the fourth row, my big-eyed doggy should be the card on the left.

It's the Dead in Dog Years one right? That's a pretty cool contest!

Just saw this. Big CONGRATS, Leah, on being a finalist! If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take to find that out?

09-23-2009, 06:50 PM
Hi Maggie,

I think all of the finalists were notified as soon as the judging was complete. We knew well before the general public, and they notified me by phone, which was pretty exciting. The check came a few weeks later.

Wow, congrats Eponaleah. That's super. You must have been excited with that news!

Hi Leah,

I tried out for the first time - just got my photo ready for submitting 4 hrs. before the deadline. Didn't get a call, so hope I can come up with something to enter in the next contest. :)

Hi Writesforlaughs. Bummer. Hope you do better next time. Keep trying!

Bumping this post as there is a looming deadline for the next contest ... let's go for it and perhaps we can join Epon in the "finalist" realm of this contest.

Here's the link: http://hallmarkcontests.com/page/CONTESTS/contest/That's%20Motherhood!

I'll post in another thread too! Have fun greeting!

Hey Debbie,

Thanks for posting this. I just entered for the Mother's Day contest and got my confirmation email.

Now, just keeping everything crossed until.

Reece ;)

Reece, tell me what ya sent - pllllllease! I have something I might send but not sure if it's worthwhile. :) Thx much. Much good luck!

10-16-2009, 07:00 PM
Good luck Reece! Isn't it fun?

10-16-2009, 09:26 PM
Sure is!

I was just at Hallmark's Twitter and on the 14th Oct they said they are not seeing as many entries as they had hoped.

So, send one in. You just need to have an original photo (of a specific size - no cell phone photos) and of course a funny greeting for Mother Day.

The deadline is Oct 16th

Good Luck

Reece ;)

Hey, Reece, I sent mine in and so did Howie! We're not holding our breath cuz they picked so few entries to win...
