You mean charcoal pencils? I've used charcoal pencils in various shapes for drawing rather than writing. Some charcoal pencils are round, some are flat and require sharpening with a knife, and they come in different hardnesses for different intensities.

Try an art supply store. They've got different colors other than black, too. Probably not actual charcoal, but the texture is the same.

Definitely. You can get short squared ones that look like pastels or full sized paperless pencils made out of compressed charcoal. (and white "charcoal" is very popular for use on black paper)
