One of my WIPs is about a kid about 11-13 who performs as a professional magician. I'd like to be factually accurate, so I can't have him do more shows than legally allowed, but my google-fu deserted me. I can't find a reliable site to tell me exactly how many shows someone that age is allowed to perform in a year. I'm also interested in finding out if there's a way he or his parents can ask for special permission to work longer than normally allowed.

Who knows?

Home - but for how long?
He needs...

a performer's license for which he needs his parents' permission, a medical and probably a lot more these days. He must also have so many hours - ? - schooling and not be failing any subjects.
