Networking question?

Hello,

I'm considering applying for a position as a computer technician but they are requesting knowledge of audio visual equipment, networking and installation of software.
Audio/visual and software installation is not a problem but I'm not sure about networking. I'm a little above the moderate level of computer literacy but have never done any programing. I have a "mini" wireless network in my house. (my laptop gets its online signal from my desktop PC)
Is this job something I should be able to tackle?

I am not sure but in India we do have institutes
dealing with networking. i think it is a study by itself.

I had something for this...
Hi Stella,

Networking in the business environment (as with most things) can range from the moderately confusing to enormously complex, but I'd say 99.9% of them are going to be more demanding than the average home wireless network.

Of course, you won't know unless you try. :)

Good luck.

Mmmm, I used to do a good bit of networking as part of the day job. From what you're saying the job is probably a little outside your current skill set, but that sort of stuff isn't real hard to pick up. I'd say go ahead and apply--the worst they can do is say no.
