Oh, sure. I write urban fantasy (obviously), horror, historical/western, mystery, thrillers and outdoor magazine features. I hold the (rather odd) distinction of being the first woman published in Guns & Ammo. Romance writers either  or :Wha: when they hear that.

;)

I've written (appalling) fantasy in the past and I have an unfinished Western on the backburner.

For a goodly number of years I wrote non-fiction -- environmental health, radiation effects, toxicology, public health and so on.

Yep - children's stories, sci-fi, erotica every now and then. I'm currently tackling horror. Also, I write humorous (I hope) blog posts for a buddy using one of my alter-egos.

I don't think I could write in just one genre.

WOW, Guns and Ammo? I"m jealous! Good for you, Cathy!

I was very lucky that my first Creative Writing teacher was Gary Provost. He told us that if you can write, you can write anything! I've been published everything but poetry and memoirs. I know if I get stuck on one project I switch to something else. It's good to stretch your writing muscles.

Would one agent handle such a mix of genre or do you need multiple agents?

I'm leaning into fantasy with what I'm planning this summer, but the primary focus is still romance. I do have a couple historical epics in me though...

Oh, and I started with horror, have an idea for a short that I'm hoping to get through while school's out as well.

But during the day, I'll be writing construction reports and editing specs.

I also write confessions, mainstream/contemporary (with aspirations toward literary), and non-fiction about food.

My current WIP is a Regency-set historical romance. I have 7 pb mss that I've been sending out to slushpiles for a few years now. I also have a YA paritially complete that I plan to tackle again this summer. I'm shopping a book for educators as well. I have my writing fingers dipped in many pots...)

I've written news, editorials and advertising copy for print and broadcast media.

I wrote healthcare policy and procedures, position papers, reports, and manuals.

I also wrote porn (surely, no one thinks those letters to Hustler or Penthouse are real). However, I don't put that on my resume.

I currently write bad romance, bad horror, bad fantasy, and hot erotica.

It's the 2004 Annual that came out in December, 2003. For those of you with hubbies that (or if you) keep back issues, the title is "Fast and Furious--the .17 HMR". The photos are courtesy of my wonderful photographer hubby, and it's ME in the photos doing the test shoots!! :D Unfortunately, it's not available on their website, but I've considered scanning the pages and posting them. So many people still don't believe that they'd accept an article from a woman--and, in fact, the editor's statement of (paraphrasing here) "Sure, we'd accept an article from a woman, but I've never read one a woman wrote that was worth publishing." As you might guess, that sort of got my back up, and I was bound and determined to do it. ;)

I write paranormal, erotica, science fiction, fantasy and urban fantasy, in addition to romance... but usually, it is a combination of two or three of the above! *lol* I am getting ready to submit my first book, which is a paranormal erotic romance, for example. =)

I write some columns and publications for work --marketing copy and communication pieces mostly.

My stories are always romance, usually historical but I've recently been noodling over some fantasy (urban or historical, I haven't quite decided yet --will know better once I have the plot points figured out).

My contemporary romance novel is the only all-human story I've written. Everything else is supernatural, though it varies whether it's romance, friendship, father raising a daughter, or ensemble.

Wow, you want the resume? I've done Star Wars and Trek fanfic, really bad poetry, mainstream-type romance, dabbled in science fiction, and I'm working on a mystery or two but they're going rather badly. If you're talking sold stuff, I write both historical and contemporary Christian fic.

Fantasy was my pet genre for years, along with SF. I even have a military thriller in the works, a couple of horror novels/novellas, etc. I had considered doing romance, but it just hadn't called to me like fantasy did.

Then I decided to do a romance for NaNoWriMo this past November. I had a couple of romance ideas looming in the back of my mind, so I grabbed one and ran with it. Finished it, started another. Then another.

5 romances and 1 erotica novel later, I think I'm hooked.

I can't stick to one genre either. Fantasy, urband fantasy, little sci-fi, mystery, horror, paranormal romance, contemporary romance...almost anything I write has some romance in it though. Except for maybe horror, I always want a love story.
