With the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 Libraries and the like with an inventory of books will be forced to throw out children’s books printed before 1985 due to the lack of funding to certify each book lead free.
Will we see an increase in children's books sales to fill the shelf space?

This scary rumor has been doing the Internet rounds, but it doesn't look likely that libraries will actually be affected. A bill was introduced last week to exempt all ordinary books from the provisions of CSPIA. See here for more info.
