I'm sure many of you know my politics, and my former staunch defence of neoconservatism, my past hatred of the left's rewriting of american history, and my so-called conservative values.

I'm here to confess, to apologize, and to admit that I was wrong. I'm here for forgiveness, and a chance to start down the golden path.

It's really come down to this: Who wants the best for America in the future?

I kept trying to wrap my head around stupid historical things. How the constitution was formed, the kinds of people involved in its creation, how america achieved success on the continent and in the world, and it just hit me.

I can't keep living in the past. It's not the 18th century anymore. You don't have to be self-sufficient. You don't have to rely on your own hands, and your own skills to survive in the world. Certainly not to survive here in America anymore. I mean, honestly, we've got a system in place that could, it sure seems, take care of every american: as long as everyone just puts in as much as they can... then everyone can take out as much as they need.

It's certainly not the 19th century anymore. We're not living in the age where the strength of arms, when the willingness to kill hundreds and thousands of people a day led to the growth and expanse of our nation, and an earned fear and respect across the world. That was a savage time, a barbaric age. I'm so tired of looking back at our bloody history, and i can't help but wonder why we couldn't have done things differently. I'm ashamed, and I hope that by begging forgiveness, and moving forward with the ideals of liberalism, socialism, and the Democratic party, I can begin to make amends.

Of course, we're not in the 20th century either, anymore, and a good thing. The age when inspired men could work and labor in their garages, and through the sweat of their brow and teamwork and collaboration create multi-billion dollar companies is over, finally, thank god. Why were we so obsessed with being successful? Why did we want to live in a better home than our parents did, with better cars, better gadgets, and more luxuries than any human honestly deserves? Frankly, I think it's about time that the US government step in and stop all this. We need to stop thinking above the clouds. Get our heads back into the game. Just concentrate on our menial jobs, our inescapable lives, give our little bit to the pie, so we can take our little bit out. That's the safe route. No enemies, no harming someone else, no dangerous innovation.

So again, I apologize. I was so wrong about so many things. Today, at this time, on this date, I stand corrected. Liberalism, socialism, and their flagship, the Democratic party? I truly think that they best represent all that is, and should have always been, what is best for America.

Happy April, everybody!

Deek's a vampire, but since AW has gone completely vampireish today, it's a good fit.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. Wow, that's a novel idea, I wonder where I've heard it before? Oh yeah Karl Marx.

Remind me, were his theories successful in practice? I really can't remember...oh well, why don't we just give them another whirl and see what happens!

Well, I couldn't disagree more, as a matter of fact I'm voting for the "breath of fresh air" from Alaska as soon as I get a chance. I'm looking forward to getting a little Republicy and mixing things up.

I begged like a little kid in a candy shop after seeing that OFG was "Old Fashioned Vampire" yesterday, and got to play in the AB-prank by being Dcullen yesterday (even my snoopy avatar got to play, apparently :)).

But, uh, yeah... That article ought to have shown quite clearly the problems with the Democratic party, not its strengths.

I'm ashamed, and I hope that by begging forgiveness, and moving forward with the ideals of liberalism Progressivism (or whatever the descriptive noun is), socialism, and the Democratic party, I can begin to make amends.
If you're going to go turncoat, you should use the modern terminology. Welcome to the "progressives."

You forgot to mention better health care than any human honestly deserves, and certainly better than any human has ever had before.

You're doing well, at least you didn't say the Democrat Party, that would have given you away. Your infiltration is almost complete.
I truly think that they best represent all that is, and should have always been, what is best for America.

Happy April, everybody!
Does that mean you'll have yet a new political position by May?

Or am I already a day late and a brain cell short...:)
