Perhaps we should all cleanse our minds, perform some deep breathing exercises, and--of course--indulge in a few moments watching the numa numa dance yet again...

Humor, set in a cemetery....

((sniff)) I couldn't view the numa numa dance. Oh well...back to trying my imagination...but I was disturbed...

Jenny, I've got your number!
I've got to make you mine!
Jenny, don't change that number:
8-6-7-5-3-0-9!

((gasp, gasp))

Sorry. Was momentarily possessed by the Ghost of the Music of The 1980s.

Need more coffee before I start thinking about the theme, but I have a couple of idea niblets.

Always in the last place you look.
Let's see...

I'm picturing a scene with a Danish Prince, one of his buds from college, and they get in a dialogue with an eccentric blue-collar type digging a grave. The gravedigger's chucking bones out everywhere, and that gives the prince the opportunity to talk to a skull. Wacky hijinks ensue.

Naah, that'd never work.

Okay, then...

The silence out there is deafening, folks...It's been a tough couple of days, but let's go forward from here. It's the only way to get anywhere.

There are humorous cemetery pieces to be written, so your avid readers can kibitz, kid, and generally make nuisances of themselves.

Breathe.

Write.

You all can do this. I know you can.

I think this is my favorite theme, thus far. It's also the most specific. I love it when Jenna makes em think!

This theme is right up William's tombstone...oops, I mean alley.
I know! Do you think he has an advantage on this one? Or do you think expectations will be higher for him?

I think he's gonna wow us all, Sara. My hope is that he wows even himself.

Hmmm. I don't think any contestant has an advantage with any theme. The pressure of writing for an open competition, under a week-by-week deadline is very difficult. I think William may be able to come up with an idea quicker because it involves a cemetery, but the process of writing the piece for judging won't be any easier for him.

Expectations...William is a very talented writer. Readers have learned from his writing that he puts out quality work. I'm sure anyone who enjoys his work will expect to read a quality piece. And I'm just as certain that they'll receive it.

That's right, Mac! He's sure to wow us. Can he wow himself? I bet if he were to wander over to the three word post he'd be wowing himself right back out....

Have you noticed that Haskins has not been around lately?

He was on last night, Rhymegirl--I expect he'll show up, six minutes before the deadline. Then laugh at all of us holding our breath for him to get his story up.

Yeah, I'm wondering that too. I can't wait to see :)

Mac-Of course Haskins will make us wait until 30 nanoseconds before the deadline to post. He's evil... What to do with him? hmm... I bet Jill could give us some suggestions! Although, there might not be much left of him after Vote Bot kicks his @ss.
