I need to start growing my own fruits and veggies and raising my own meat, the way things are going. I would if I had any room.

The farmers warned us this was going to happen. Huge agra companies are the problem.

Ben, you are one sick puppy. I gotta admit, that was along the lines of what I was thinking, though.

“Just think of it as veal,” urged a festival volunteer.

No. No. Absolutely and positively no.

Unless you're a sheep, a goat, a bull, or a pig, you've got nothing to worry over. :D

Hey, damn it, so this is what the 'all men are pigs' statement boils down to?

My twin 'red eared sliders' just put dents into the top of my skull.

QFT.

Eat 'em anyway. I ate the damn recalled peanut butter and I'm still here.

you martyr and shine.
I need to start growing my own fruits and veggies and raising my own meat, the way things are going. I would if I had any room.
I'm reading a book about doing this: Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. Even she admits that raising all of one's own food is extremely impractical, even if you live on a farm. But we can become much more conscious of where our food comes from, buy from local farmer's markets and food co-ops, and avoid packaged and processed foods.

Although I've long been aware of the dangers of factory farming, until I started reading this I'd never given much thought to things like the carbon footprint of a banana from Ecuador, or out of season strawberries from Mexico.
