I read this book in school years ago. It's based upon a documentary film of the same name that the class and I also watched. Now I'm reading it again.
Hoop Dreams is based on the true story of William Gates and Arthur Agee, two black teens who dream of playing in the NBA. The novel is more of an autobiography than a novel as characters every often speak of their feelings and experiences thinking back on certain events.
Still it is an enjoyable read. Has anyone else here read it? Seen the film?
