Is there a software that I, or an agent/publisher uses to check an update to a manuscript? I have submitted a manuscript, and merrily went on to write more, make improvements etc. Is there a way to highlight the changes? Surely publishing has some sort of software for this?

Since you don't seem to have gotten any replies here, I'll move this over to the tech help forum, they may be able to help you out there.

You might look at the Microsoft Word Tracking tool; in the Tools menu.

There are special tools for software developers that all you to track changes in text files, even to restored changes/undo/ etc.

But they require a server, they're not simple to set up or to use.
