Has anyone been to this exhibit? I heard about it from a friend and they told me that it uses actual crime scene material (including photos). Do you know if that is true? I looked on the website:
http://csitheexperience.com/ (http://csitheexperience.com/)
And couldn't really tell from the description of the exhibit if this was true. They say that the crimes you are involved in solving are "hypothetical" but they also say elsewhere on the site that they feature "footage from real-life crime scene investigators and forensic analysts".
It strikes me as odd that they'd be able to use real information. Like it would be kind of a slap in the face to the victims and their families. Anyone have insight on this? And if this belongs in a different thread let me know--TV talk was closest match I could think of.

It sounds like they're getting their intel from analysts and the crime scene investigators, but nothing that is actually from a real crime scene. So it would be like ... they created a hypothetical scenario and ran it past the analysts, who helped them determine the realism of the situation. Notice how it doesn't say they're using footage from crime scenes, but from crime scene investigators.

Yeah, I thought the wording was kind of sneaky…to make you think it is more real than it probably is. They guy who told me about it in the first place kept saying that it was "real stuff from real crime scenes" and I kept saying how disturbed I was by that. Then I noticed his eyes glaze over, perhaps he was realizing as I was saying this that he had been duped. LOL

I would still be curious to know if anyone has been to it and what they know. I am trying to do some research on when media crosses the line with real life crime, specifically reality TV shows. So this CSI thing isn't exactly what I am interested in, but it was the closest thing I could find for now.
Thanks for posting :)

Oh, wow, this sounds so cool. I love CSI and those basic themes. Just checked and it's not coming to London (nearest is Vienna).

Seems a shame as they could probably put it in the O2 arena in London. Hmmm, maybe I'll e-mail them to see if they have plans to?
