Phineas & Ferb - what sayest thou?
  1. Turns the whole genre of "we can do anything if we just pretend!" genre on its ear. Instead of pretending to build a rocket, Phineas and Ferb actually build a rocket.
  2. Finally, a cartoon that recognizes the greatness of the wonder and the wonder of the greatness of the much-maligned marsupial, the platypus. Gotta love it for that, even if Perry weren't a secret agent.
  3. Hands down, some of the better songs in a kid's show these days.
  4. Just pretty danged funny, overall.

Mo-ommmmm! Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!

:Guitar: (pretend it's just one ending strum)

I  Phineas and Ferb! :D I think my favorite song is "Busted," followed closely by PFT's one hit -- the one I don't know the title of but it goes "gitchie gitchie goo means that I love you!" Oh, and "E-V-I-L B-O-Y-S."

Great, now I have all those songs PLUS the opening theme rattling through my head...

....oh, there you are, Perry.

My fav Phineas and Ferb song is "The Backyard Beach", followed closely behind by that "E-V-I-L B-O-Y-S" song :D

oooh, I love Phineas and Ferb! Almost as much as I love Chowder!

Jeremy's evil little sister is my favorite, and the floating baby head from the Haunted House episode.

Bow chicka bow wow
That's what my baby says
Mow mow mow
And my heart starts pumpin'
Chicka chicka choo wop
Never gonna stop
Gitchee gitchee goo means that I love you!

Yeah, that's probably my favorite song, too.

No way! I had no idea! Rocky, wow, that brings back memories.

Phineas said something at the start of one of the eps: "boredom is something up with which I will not put." :roll:Yay for grammar, and yay for not taking it seriously while, well, taking it seriously. :D

Yep, that was in the first episode, "Rollercoaster".

But you have to feel a little sorry for Isabella, though. She's so crushed out on Phineas.

"He's the semi-aquatic egg layin mammal of action,
He's the furry little flat foot who never flinched from a fray,
He's got more than just mad skills,
He's got a beavers tail and bill,
And the women swoon whenever they hear him say.
*platypus sound*,
He's Perry,
Perry the Platypus!!"

I can only watch this show when I babysit, since I don't have cable at home. God, how I love to babysit.

Well, the kids watch the show, too...

Dr. Heinz Doofenschmirtz (I have NO idea how to spell that, lol) also cracks me up.

I love how all his evil inventions are always named the "something-inator". And his interactions with Perry are the best part of the show.

Oh, this sounds so cute. Too bad I've never heard of or seen it. Guess it's a location issue. I'll check into it online...

It's on Disney channel - and it rocks. Seriously, it's the best cartoon since, hm, The Simpsons? But It's different than Simpsons (it's on Disney, after all) and better.

In fact, just this morning, after a week of lovely, sunny 50 degree days, I woke to nearly a foot of snow in my backyard with big, round-topped snowdrifts. I have a feeling the boys were back there making Swinter.

Quick update: there are two soundtrack albums out now. One is a collection of the main songs and the other is from the Christmas special. The Christmas one is only available on iTunes, from what I can tell, but the regular one is on Barnes & Noble's site.

Hey. Where's Perry?

I need to go back and count how many episodes they've done because the theme lyrics state "there's 104 days of summer vacation", and I have a feeling Disney Channel might try to cover all of them.

Here's a YouTube channel with music from the show. It has the longer versions of Busted and Gitchee Gitchee Goo from the countdown episode.

This is definitely the best show on the DC right now. I find myself singing the Ballad of Bad Beard all the time.

In a world where there are so few decent cartoons left, it's great to have a gem like this still around.
