I just wanted to know if this was right? Something someone said in my last thread made me think of it when writing this and just wanted feed back. I am copying what I recieve as feed back so maybe it will sink in one day? Anyways thanx

Gritting teeth is an action, a movement of the jaws. I would say that she spoke through clenched teeth, since it is much harder to be understood when you are grinding your teeth together (lol). When I see "gritted teeth" in this context, I always get a picture of sand stuck to the teeth. Ouch.

Thanks Mad. I also should work on clearity. I wanted to know if I placed the comma in the right place? You're right, clenched does sound better then gritted.

Default: no comma

The comma is possible, here, as a rhetorical tool, but not all people like rhetorical (= non-grammatical) commas.
