You let him read this post. First thank you on behalf of myself and all for your service, my daughter just got the call and is scheduled for March of next year so we share a bit. But most importantly, you sir, are blessed to have a young lady who frequents this site and has yearned long and hard for this day to come to pass, she is a class act who adores her husband, and though I'm sure has suffered some miserable nights crying, praying, and just missing the love of her life more than most could stand, she has carried on in your absence with dignity and hardly a hint of misgiving that anything was a miss, may you both find every minute together a blessing and spend as much of it together as you can....... don....

OMG, I didn't expect this, thank you all!!! This is so sweet. Hubs says he is glad I have such great friends online and sincerely sends his thanks for all the welcomes and for keeping me as sane as possible while he was gone. :D

Well, the homecoming was awesome. However, as I was waiting to take my Hubby home, we got the news the one soldier out of the 300+ had made a stupid mistake in the travels home, so they decided to mass punish all the soldiers and put them in lock-down. So instead of being able to take hubby home that first night, I slept in my car on post, just to be near him. But some mad mamas called the media the next day and the soldiers were miraculously released, so I have him home now (well, not right now, right now he's at reintegration). It is so AWESOME to have him here again. I just can't describe it. My world is back.

You all are so dear to me. I can't thank you enough for all your support and your constant friendship!

It's finally over, HE'S HOME!!!! Yea!!!!

:hooray:

ETA: This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvA7Ej9N_5Y) is a link to a song that I would listen to my iPod almost every night. I'd sit on my porch late at night, long after the kids were asleep, and sink my head into my hands, listen to this song, and just cry. This song helped me let out everything I held in during the long days without him. I just wanted to share it with you.

We are so happy for you, SG, and we've all seen you go through this journey, and being there for him and your family and holding it all together. You have the strength of steel and kudos to your kids for hanging tough not only without their father by their side, but to worry about his safety and everything.

Here's to hope that our country will show him the gratitude he deserves and that he will be fine reintegrating. I am very confident that with your support, love and his family, he will do just great. But do watch for stuff like depression, disorientation, etc. but I know you, as a family, will do just great.

You all are just too sweet. I can't tell you how much this thread has meant to me and Hubby.

Ray, you are right on watching for the signs of depression and such. We Army spouses are actually strongly encouraged to go to a briefing just before the soldiers come home where we learn to watch for signs of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and anger issues. It's a great class and it really tries to help us see things as much as possible through our spouse's eyes. Hubby is really open to talking about most of his experiences, even ones most people wouldn't want to rehash. You can tell he doesn't like to talk about some of it, but he will because I ask and he knows I would feel blocked out of a part of his life if he didn't share, even the hard stuff, with me.

I have to thank all of you who prayed and sent good vibes/thoughts to Hubby. We talked for hours the other night, and he had so many close calls, so many miracles that brought him back to me unharmed, and if your prayers and thoughts had anything to do with that, I can't thank you enough!

Very touching I'm usually not a misty person.

On a naughtier note: Is this the first time you two have come up for air? If so I'm sending my wife to Iraq.

With two kids and him having to go to work every day for reintegration, we've had some time to breathe, but to answer your question, yeah, pretty much. ;)
