Well, February was rough month for me. I wrote six chapters of first draft instead of the eight I had as goal. Overall, the wordcount was about 75% of projected; I haven't had the nerve to actually add it up. About 10,000 words, give or take.

I feel that since I got active here, my word count has dropped, but my story is clearer to me, and I think the writing is improving.

In March, I goal 15,000 to get back on schedule, 9 chapters. Most importantly, I want to have the first chapter in workable shape by the end of the week, and have a query attempt in SYW by the end of the month so there's plenty of time to polish.

Good luck on everyone meeting their goals and thank you AW for your help.

1. Have baby - induction date March 4

2. Get a positive response from manuscript currently on submission (Like I have a lot of control over that...)

3. Start working seriously on my WIP - say, 30,000 words complete?

Well, at least one out of three is guaranteed to happen...

2. Edit, edit, edit
3. Submit final to publisher

And then we shall see. This is when I'll find out if they want to proceed. Wish me luck, fingers crossed, lots of prayers, please!

-Finish the first draft of my current WIP. I only have 29K left of it to write, so it shouldn't take the whole month.

-Start planning my next WIP.

A nice easy month, but with only 2 months left to my AS exams I'm going to be spending most of my time studying!

March sees a bit of a serious shift for me as I'm sceduled to give a talk at the branch of my socialist group on April 2, which is pretty serious and kind of nerve wracking.
  1. Branch talk (I'm breaking up the goals)
    1. Write premise
    2. Outline points, arguments and example to cover
    3. Compile reading list of books and articles
    4. Write draft talk
    5. Revise for experienced member
    6. Practice
  2. Maybe edit flash fiction story about a Bunyip
  3. Finish reading The White Tiger

I'm going low-key for goals this month. I only have one.

I will write a minimum of 500 words every weekday. Doesn't matter what on, so long as I write.

I have a very modest goal for this month, and that's to write 1,000 words every day. I had a lot of distractions last month, so it's time to get back on track!

Good luck to everyone; I hope we all meet our goals!

Good luck, everyone!
I do enjoy the "modest" goals people are putting up of 500 or 1000 words a day. I put up a stretch goal of 7500 words on my novel (along with some editing I need to get done), which comes up this month to less than 250 words a day.

My goals:
1. at least 3000 words a day, no matter what!
2. Beta read again (after i finish my first one), because that is so much fun and so very helpful
3. Practice Russian 1 hour a day at least
4. Don't let my passion for writing stamp out my passion for art, draw a (good) picture a day. Gotta keep things balanced!

Good luck everyone else! I know I'll need it... ;)

Didn't do well in February either, I fear -- but that is going to change in March.

I have but two goals:

1) Get ten chapters of AFTERLIFE written.
2) Do my utmost, through blogs, contests, etc., to promote the upcoming launch of STARGAZER. (ETA: Done!)

Let's see how I manage.

REVISED -- While I was working on AFTERLIFE, the publisher asked to see a totally different proposal. So I've been working hard on that instead, and my new goal is to get that proposal (FORTUNE'S SOUND) to the publisher before April 1.
