Hey there! Anyone who lives in/near D.C. and rides the metro, could you help me out? I need a rough mental image of the Rosslyn station when you're coming from Pentagon City. What do you see when you get off the metro and you walk into the station? Where are the entrances/exits? Where are the elevators? It doesn't have to be terribly specific - I just need a general layout.

Thanks!

Ha! I used to live right off the Rosslyn Metro Station, but it's been a long while. I was there two summers ago and it mostly looks like tall buildings out both entrances. I'm sure that's not much help.

But check out this escalator -

Also, what's neat about Rosslyn is that next to no one lives there. It's almost exclusively office buildings, so at night, it's eerily quite for such an urban-looking setting.

Also, since it's such a short hop from the Pentagon, lots of military zip into Rosslyn on the train for lunch.

All the underground platforms look very similar. Here's Gallery Place -

Here's where you buy your tickets -

One entrance has a little newsstand and sandwich shop attached to it, which is actually kind of unusual. If I can find a pic, I'll post it.

Awesome. Thank you. :)

This story is about 100 years into the future, and the entrance/exit to the subway collapsed, so they're trapped in the tunnels. The tunnel that connects at the Rosslyn station, the orange line, is collapsed too, and all of this makes A LOT more sense if there's mostly office buildings. It makes sense that if the buildings collapsed, they would fall onto the subway and the rubble would block the entrance.

Yes. Yes it would. Lol. It's hard to envision it...there was a flood that almost completely engulfed the coastal states, so almost everything in Washington D.C. and VA was wiped out, leaning rubble and salt marshes. It's tough.

Isn't there a hotel in Rossyln, too? A big high rise hotel? It's been a while, but that's just over the bridge from Georgetown with the restaurants and bars.
