I did a search of this forum and didn't see this specific question. Flame me if I missed it.

Do you capitalize the names of drinks? For example: frozen pomegranate martini or Frozen Pomegranate Martini?

Somehow neither one looks right to me.

And while we're on the subject (or at least I am)...what about food dishes: Chicken Cordon Bleu? Baked Alaska?

thanks!

Depends. My Wesbster says only Alaska is capitalized in your examples.

In other words, other drinks would be a black Russian, a Montana glacier, an Old Faithful eruption.

You would capitalize a Tom Collins, since the name contains proper nouns, but not a highball. A Singapore sling is another example as mentioned by Chase, but not a tequila sunrise.

Dang. Now I'm thirsty...

Depends, too on whether it's a brand name. Coke takes a capital but not cola (generic; a type of drink) unless it's Coca Cola and that's a trademarked brand name.

Same with other products too:

'I ate Kellogg's Corn Flakes for breakfast' (brand name) but 'I ate corn flakes for breakfast.' (generic; they could have been anyone's.)
